Tesla was famous for putting on impressive displays of high-voltage
manipulation or what looked like "light shows" where he would come on the
stage with thousands of volts surrounding him without any damage whatsoever.
Many tendrils of electricity would snap and pop like he was a human plasma
globe display out in the open. He said this can be accomplished only if the
current is extremely low and that it is the current that will kill almost
regardless of the voltage.

It's well known in the scientific community that even 5 volts can stop a
heart. It's not the voltage which will kill you, it's current. As little
as 5mA can stop your heart under the right conditions...at any voltage.
