BUT, do you think attendance would be up in Atlanta, Chicago,
Orlando, or New York?
NO WAY! All of them are more expensive for both the vendors and for
the attendees.
PLUS, none of them have a big enough convention center.
The Las Vegas Convention Center is big enough to hold TWO major
conventions at the same time, save CES and NAB. None of the other
cities have a big enough convention center to hold either, and need
overflow to other venues.
Even NAB overflows into the Hilton, and CES does too, plus some stuff
at the Sands in the RA-RA years.
It CANNOT go anywhere else, unless it gets to be much smaller, and
does anyone want that?
Plus, the restaurants are able to absorb the crowd. It cannot
anywhere else.
Hey, I have been going to the NAB convention for a long time. I
recall Washington, DC parking tickets!
