I MORE than agree with you.
I once was the chief at a major market station. When I took over,
the AUX would only make just under 5 kW, on a 25 kW PA.
Once I fixed it, that MUCH OLDER transmitter became my Main, and the
newer transmitter of the same design became my Alternate Main.
WHY? Because the newer transmitter would ALWAYS come up when cold.
The older one -- maybe not.
The older one would STAY on the air, but may not always start from cold.
I get it. Your Alternate Main, or Auxiliary Transmitter MUST start
reliably.
