[BC] Just for fun - a little serious too.

In the early 1980s I worked for an AM/FM that had no capital or operating
budget. Anything I needed or wanted that was more than a couple of hundred
dollars I had to ask for. So one day I went into the GM to ask for
something, I don't remember now what it was. But I do remember the reply
from the GM. He said that he had spent enough money, after all, the
previous month he had bought me a new FM exciter. I replied that no, he
bought the STATION a new FM exciter. I said, if he had bought ME a new FM
exciter, it would be home in my living room right now! He got the point.

PS This was the same GM that wanted to get stereo cart machines so we could
air spots in stereo. He had the idea that he could charge more if the spots
were in stereo. I told him that the clients think their spots are in stereo
NOW and if they found out their spots were in mono they might want a price
reduction! That was the end of that.
