[BC] Should We Now Wait on Digital-only TV?

With the American economy about to swirl down the ol' U-bend, may I suggest the drop-dead February date for switching off all domestic analog TV signals be pushed ahead to sometime next autumn, say in time for next Christmas?

Families are about to make huge sacrifices in their savings and spending habits. One of the first things I see going bye-bye will be the purchases of big and expensive electronic toys; digital TVs among the casualties. Now, with the public already plenty peed-off about the situation in general, what possible good will it do to take away their television signals as well?

I know this ruling and this date have been a decade in the making, but there is a greater good at stake: a responsibility for our hired help in Washington to try to maintain and preserve the morale of Americans during the next year and beyond. People have been punished plenty already and the spankings have barely begun ... pulling the plug on their TVs just because its on the calendar would be cruel.
