I suppose a radio station at Travis AFB would not be out of the bounds of
reality. When I lived in Merced, I was asked to build a radio station at
Castle AFB. When I arrived, I was shown a room with a bunch of 1970's
equipment that had come from Elmendorf AFB in Alaska and they asked me to
wire it up. When I told them that I was done, they said "When can we go on
the air?" and I said, "As soon as I can hook it up to your transmitter" and
they said "Transmitter?? What's that?"
