That's what I'd want. However, more often than not the cutting master 
was used. When I worked for TM we were one of the largest producers 
of radio/TV production libraries, jingles. commercials and a few 
records. The jingles and commercials were delivered on tape. 24 
tracks mixed down to 1 or 2. The production libraries were delivered 
on vinyl. Mono or stereo masters were produced to match the needs of 
the final product.

If anyone has some of the cheaper production packages (not TM) that 
were rereleased on CD they'll find the same awful quality as the first CDs.
