Until it becomes *free* (or close to it) it's not *yet* Our Worst Nightmare... but
yes, it IS gaining! No question there. I think the RIAA (and its cousins) are
still Our Worst Nightmare in a lot of ways. Certainly against Internet
streaming or broadcasting!
Example: A friend of mine was running a successful oldies-based online
station for a number of years. (It was so successful that he had invested thousands
of dollars into automation & studio gear, which took up a room in his
apartment!) The rate hikes literally did him in. He shut the station down a couple of
months ago, now. Very sad.
