Nor do they realize that it's just not nice to p*** off the only
engineer in the building when they do !

National mid day sports bum did that.
 I heard it. ( doesn't matter if I like it. I'm not programming )
I was the only engineer there at the time, on a project, not maintenance.

Something failed during the show, I forget what.
He needed me RIGHT NOW !!

My response was basicly that *if* I had time, and the inclination,
at the end of the project, say a week, maybe two, I'd look at it,
but only if I felt like it. Oh, and it's not nice to bad mouth
engineering on the air. Some engineers listen, and might hear it.

Of course, he was gonna have me fired. Good trick, firing someone
who doesn't work there, and works several pay grades above you,
and technically has no obligation to give you the time of day, let
alone put up with such childishness..

Would have been a 2 minute job, but I don't take kindly to being
insulted and/or ridiculed publicly, even when it's not personal.

Yeah, it hurt his show. Oh well......

Normally, I'd bend over backward to help if asked, but not when
insults and ridicule substitute for common decency and professional
 respect among peers.
