Is it not true that an A series transmitter is upgradeable with a new
controller, etc? I thought that was one of the cool selling points for
BE, that they made their new designs compatible enough that the older
boxes could be upgraded.

If I didn't have a new transmitter as an option, I'd consider something
upgradeable (given a knowledge of all the costs, which I don't have at
my fingertips).
