    If I recall correctly, the "dirge-like music" was from 
Dvorak's Symphony No. 9, "New World".  I'm thinking it was 
the second movement, "Largo", and I believe that it was 
being played by a small string quartet.  There was this 
delicate, counterpoint thing in it, and I was enchanted 
by the piece.  

    It is still among my favorite Classical selections.
