Rich,
In the 15 years I ran master control for KUTV(not 
church owned), great care was taken to avoid 
conflicts on the log. They even received 
permission from NBC to block network feminine 
hygiene spots in prime time, claiming they were 
in bad taste during family programming. We would 
run Johnny Carson promos in their place. When the 
ACR-25 quad cart machine would die as it often 
would, master control could automatically dump 
trade spots to run makegoods. The best trade I 
ever got was half off tickets to anywhere Hughes 
Air West flew. The GM finished off his basement 
with trades. But again, those were the olden days
