Since you're up there in 'Cuse, Tim, I'd ask the boys over at the Newhouse School (on the SU campus) for their recommendations, and if they have a locker full of different headset models you might clap on and try out.
Otherwise, if you really end up liking those Beyers, they can be powered with an *external* phantom block, totally separate from the Tieline. RDL's model STMPA2 can power two mics for about 99 bux. Granted, a Behringer mixer for $99 can do the same job, but I'd trust the ruggedness of a Stick-On block more than I would a musician's desktop hobby mixer. Put a BUD box around the STMPA2, tighten down those XLR jacks with a coupla lockwashers and you have a bulletproof power supply for the road... if your remote PBP crew remembers to put it in the kit...
