[BC] Wireless mics in the 950 Mhz band

Thomas has a good point and in fact since the wireless mics are of very
low power
(50 milliwatts) it is likely that the broadcast STL transmitter will make
the channel
unusable for wireless mics.

At this writing, I think only Sennheiser listes mics in that frequency
ranger but I am
unfamiliar with Lectrosonics "block" method of frequency operation.

With some much of the UHF TV spectrum going away, the low
power/entertainment
users are in a very real squeeze for spectrum. Unseen by most is that
large events
that use wireless for mics and communication are internally frequency
co-ordinated.

Two easy example are the Academy Awards and the Grammy Awards. Dave
Belamy from Soundtronics Wireless takes care of both shows. His company
provides wireless mics and intercom but no all of the systems in use so he
works out
who can be where. He also takes care of the outside preshow broadcasts.

Co-ordination also goes to frequency sharing since some manufactures of
wireless
mics are less frequency agile then others or are limited to the bandwidth
over which
they are agile.
