If by "folks" you mean consumers, they aren't wondering. These things 
aren't even on their radars. That's probably why nearly every big box 
store is closing them out. If I were a manufacturer seeing 
competitors products going straight to the remainder table I'd be 
very reluctant to jump into this revolution. The question "what if 
they gave a revolution and nobody came" has now been answered. It's 
sort of like Thanksgiving dinner. It takes a long time to prepare, 
then it's gone in less than an hour,.except for the "closeout" turkey 
sandwiches hanging around for weeks/months afterward.

This is just a different species of turkey.
