In many smaller markets & rural areas, there is no practical 
alternative. I'd love to have a WAN to my transmitter. But at $4-600/mo 
for a T1, and no DSL or other lesser cost option, that's out of the 
question. So all "digital" solutions involve unlicensed bands, higher 
frequency licensed bands, or use 94x analog or digital link. Given the 
costs vs downtimes, we still use analog STL's. Sure do not need more 
junque invading this spectrum.
