Tho I haven't looked at the latest rules, when I moved to Texas from
NY (thats "UPSTATE") I could have gotten registered in TX as a PE by
virtue of having my registration in NY. TX required filling out a
thick stack of papers and paying the yearly FEE. All states except
Ohio have reciprocity for the original state issued PE license.

I decided not to register in TX as I wasn't doing any more design work
of a public nature. The FEE ain't cheap either. There was no
requirement to take the tests again.

The give up is I can not use the word "Engineer" and its derivatives
in a company name in TX. Those words are allowed only for TX
registered PEs.
