Zara is good; but it wants to hog any internet connection you allow it
(stream connections, etc.). SPL easily outperforms it. For one, ZARA
has no way to protect against playing same artist back-to-back; SPL does
(an issue for stations that have a stream - another benefit of DMCA). I
also didn't see any way to interface ZARA with a sat receiver - Studio
does - in both directions - via the LPT port.

>From playing wih ZARA, I see no way of making ZARA play commericals with any
sort of trigger. It has a "satellite" input source via like a line-in plug on
the sound card, but that "satellite" option is worthless without being able to
accept relay closures to trigger local avails.

I agree....Win2k is far more stable than any of these other operating system
pieces of crap that Bill Gates has dumped into the market place. Everything
that is used in TV here uses Win2k. Radio wise...you guessed it..Win2k. If the
"box" comes in the building with something other than Win2K, it gets formated
and Win2k installed. Just because Bill Gates does not offer updates and patches
anymore doesnt mean it is outdated. Newer isnt always better. This Vista pile
of ones and zeros that is out now.....gee what a joke of an OS that is.
