IIRC, that's now an OSHA requirement. NTM the grid itself has to be
double-secured unless it's structural. Was big issue in the '80s when
WTHR built new studio - the contractor couldn't understand why we wanted
a 15-foot high drop ceiling in a warehouse. We had all sorts of fun
with that - along with the noisy A/C vents. The grid wound up
double-chained to the rafters, IIRC; the A/C needed to be a bit more
creative (wound up with dampers about 10-15' from the outlet, and no
diffuser - at least for a while. That's been quite a while, so they may
have something different in there by now.)
