I bought a real cheap pair of small vise-grips, drilled a hole in the frame,
and use a drywall screw to fasten them to the bench
clamp one tab of the connector in the grips, then inset wires in pins and
use a large pair of pliers laid across the wires to hold them while I solder
and yes, the buck-a-pair 'reading glasses work wonders at my advanced age
