AMP didn't get very many "design-ins".

Such examples being: Cannon's D-Subminiature series for rack and  
panel and also cable connectors, Winchester's M series for rack and  
panel and also cable connectors, IBM "Serpent" (serpentine) OEMI  
channel connectors, etcetera.

But, AMP made those, and many more, and all were accepted as the  
originals.

AMP production tooling was some of the finest available.
