[BC] Soldering D-sub Pins

did you ever try using one of those neat little things available from
Radio Shack and other places that can hold the connector and the wire?
A couple of alligator clips attached to an arm via ball pivots with
thumbscrews. Usually works pretty good for me - if I'm not rushed; in
which case I tend to fall back on the
grasp-the-connector-between-the-pinkie-and-the-ring-finger-with-the-solder-in-the-mouth
trick. <G>
I wonder if that's why most engineers have warped senses of humor? All
the lead they've ingested and inhaled over the years.....
