[BC] Sticky tape problem...

I would not bake the tape. Its too old. 

1.  You can take the flanges off and hang the hub for a few days to let it 
air out naturally. 

2.  There used to be tape cleaners, if you have access to one. 

3.  Spool it slowly by hand, let the vacuum guides draw off the moisture. You 
can also put a lintless cleaning tape (remember mounting those on the Quads 
gentlemen?) and again run it slowly by hand.  In the really old days, we'ed 
wash with freon, then let the tape glide over our finger as the loose oxide 
rubbed off. 

Be sure to clean the pinch roller and guides with alcohol so they are clean 
and dry. 

Keep the upper reel flanges off when you shuffle the tape so the air can 
circulate in the tape layers. 

Heating the tape at this point may make it shrink/stretch and make it 
unplayable from mechanical instability.
