Back in the 70s had to run 25 watts @ VHF up a 300 foot tower through RG8 in 
an emergency.  Thought I would have to install a vacuum pump on the top of 
the tower to get any power out at that end.

How about 50 kW though hundreds of feet of 1 5/8 foam?
