" There is a termination resistor in the heat shrink, the length of cable is
cut to frequency specific, Each cable is cut to length in a frequency
dependant situation.

I had a cable fail between the flex-patch panel and the PA in a HT-20CD
during the warranty period. The center conductor in the RG-213 and the pin
in the female N connector separated.
Upon removing the heat shrink, I recall that there was an extra hollow braid
that the coax had been slipped through. After the extra braid was slipped
over the coax, heat shrink was applied over that. The extra braid was not
clamped or soldered to the connectors on either end. I assumed it was done
to add mechanical rigidity to the cable. There certainly wasn't what I
would consider to be a robust electrical connection to the extra hollow
braid under the heat shrink. No resistor(s) was found under the heat
shrink.
