	I know you are asking about RG-8 for AM, but I had a 1kw 
aux Fm that I needed to test for a long time, and I did not 
have a dummy load. But I did have about 300-400 feet of 
really crappy RG-8 in my garage. I plugged it into the EIA 
to N adapter, and laid the coax out in the field, without a 
termination. TX saw about 1.5 VSWR. I started out with the 
coax coiled up outside, but, go figure, it was dissipating 
1Kw of heat. Stretched out it worked fine. Ran for 3 days 
that way.
