[BC] The nub of the issue

I beg to differ Dana. There are PLENTY of good "bean counters' out
there who report to equally vested managers. While they have to be
tightfisted for discipline's sake, I know of a few who care more for
doing it right than doing it for the next quarterly
report. Especially if the company is tightly held AND they're not
beholden to but a few stock holders who have long term goals instead
of short term returns. Which is the VAST majority of firms out there.

I really annoy's me when the misdeeds of a few high profile zealots
are stereotyped into a black wash across a whole profession.

I fully agree with Robert that senior management MUST include a
finance person as part of the visionary and guiding team. They're
now just as important as the GSM, DoE, and PD in small and medium operations.
