Cowboy is correct originally the KLIF night site was licensed as a "Critical
Array" This required and extra 11 meter reading once per hour of our system
deviation ratio. Later on this was dropped. The after Susquehanna purchased the
station Ron Rackley did alot of rework on the system and got the Commission
to drop the "Critical Array" from the license.

But in its early days to read the end towers on each end of the system
required killing of the audio in order to read base current ratios within licensed
values. So we installed audio mute buttons in each tower allowing the cutting
audio for readings.
