The Behringer stuff will do that for quite a while, actually, and sound ok.
The pan pots and such rotary knobs on the rigs I used seemed to be the
weakest.
I never had an 'ugly sounds' come out, and had used one of their eurodesk
mixers in a shoe-string video post prod suite. Three or 4 mics, computer
sound, 3 cams, etc. Worked well enough that it's been on the air for
probably 5 years, although they've gotten into using college kids part time
now, so, they are no longer following anything I taught them about working
to reference levels on either side... they just crank the stuff out, and
don;t look back... but the hardware wtill works.
... they could afford fancy stuff, now, but they don't see any reason to
change yet.
What's that tell you about the Behringer stuff?
