My sister lives in San Diego County and they were warned by what she calls
the "reverse 911" system which I suppose allows the 911 operators to block
call folks in the affected area.
She and the family are in good shape, but she said that the Santa Anna winds
last night rolled over her 50 pound flower pots and rolled them across the
garden like they were feathers!

I can only tell you what they said on TV. "no one listens to radio
anymore" Power was out so there was no TV and the cell was probably
knocked out. This is why EAS is not all it is cracked up to be.
