The wingtips will always outmaneuver the artists, as that is what 
wingtips do -maneuver. Look at how many sales people become GMs 
relative to the number of engineers or air talent. I had a glancing 
blow with a wingtip who was obsessed with 'quiet shoes' but no 
concern whatever with a bad automation server.

Now, when technology inexorably alters the business model, few 
wingtips survive. Look at Ampex and Baldwin Locomotive Works.
