Plus HDTV (when done right) actually brings noticeable increase in overall
video quality - much higher video resolution, less coding artifacts,
surround sound, etc.

Which cannot be said for HD Radio (in more than single channel mode). In
terms of audio quality, typical 48 kbps channel does not deliver noticeable
improvement in audio quality over analog FM (if we can talk about
_improvement_ at all).
