[BC] Irons for silver soldering copper strap

I've never tried to use an iron on strap, just not enough heat. What I
do use is a oxy/mapp torch. I had been using one of the small ones you
get from the home improvement stores, but recently during a ground
system project I upgraded to a full commercial system. I first used
oxy/acetylene but found that it took no time to run out of acetylene,
and thus was quite expensive. After going through 2 tanks of gas I next
bought mapp gas and found it works great and lasts forever. Looking at
the comparison charts for the 2 fuels, mapp burns with almost the same
heat and temperature as acetylene, (not enough difference to notice) and
is more stable and far less expensive. Since mapp is a liquefied gas,
rather than a dissolved gas you don't have to guess how much you have
left, just pick up the bottle and shake it.
