The radio in my big late model Cadillac el dorado sucks on AM, its not even
very sensitive, high noise floor in the car itself I think.....all kinds of
noise on AM. I can barely bare to listen to AM in my Cadillac, and AM is my
favorite mode. However I have a Chevy van 2005 and it has an excellent el
cheapo AM radio in it. Not as good as it could be but certainly sensitive
enough and pretty darn good sounding for van use.

I still contend that the stock radio in my '03 Grand Cherokee is the
best ever system. The owner's book mentions something about the car being
"two-way radio ready" and it is noise free from an internally generated
standpoint. 2M-FM doesn't bother it or the dash electronics either. Fine
unit all the way around.
