What's scary is that you can get one today at the dollar store that 
will probably out-perform it.

I think back at the multi-rack mainframes I did tech support on in 
the 70s, with the Vermont Research drum that was the size of a 
washing machine and had a whopping 8 megs of capacity.  It was 
amazing what some of those programmers back then could do with a 
PDP-8 or 11 with 64K (or less) of RAM.  No bloatware in those days!
