HI Paul -

I still have an AM Stereo rig running. Stereo gen doesn't really effect
the contour area enough to say so, I'd really only noticed it when I would
go someplace way outside the market, where we were at the border with a
station close to our frequency, or in a big TI area, or such. (Why my GM
expected a 1Kw rig to sound the same as a 50k rig at 70 miles plus out from
the center I don't know... but he did. Ain't gonna happen, with or without
stereo.)

I can tell you - Wideband antenna, good processing, and proper AM plant
practices make a lot of difference, but so does horsepower, too.

If you do all your stuff right, yes, your station will sound good. Folks
with good stereo receivers will hear good stereo. Folks with good mono
receivers will notice it's very clean sounding mono.

What else did you want it all all to do... :-D ?
Jason
