[BC] Reading: Are HD Radios Made w/Crappy Tuners?

I ad a chance to test Acurian receiver here in San Antonio.  
 
1  The display was mnot hooked up -- no powersupply
2  Location was six miles from the down town stations
3  Only one station on FM was received with a wire antenna.
4 Audio changed only slightly with the highs being a bit brighter 
5 The analog FM was pretty dull compared to any of the other radios on  
display
6 The data channel worked well, but so did the RDS display
7 Could not get WOAI  CC flagship -- 50k and less than 10 miles away.  Other 
receivers did however
 
Conclusion. OK buy sure not worth $200 -- they did have a nice small  handout 
on HD in general.
 
There was as usual a real push  for sat receivers. The owner said he  sold 2 
around Xmas and none since.
