In looking at the Hawkins Photos of WOWO I believe the WGUN transmitter was an earlier version.  My memory is getting full of cobwebs.
 
Tom Taylor  did you see the Hawkins  WOWO Photos????  Is that the version that was WGUN.  The last time I saw it Ban Akerman was the Chief Engineer and General Manager there.  (Long Ago)

The WOWO Westinghouse transmitter is a 1953 50HG model. 
 
Their current backup is a 1978 Harris MW-50, which was replaced as primary 
by a 1998 Harris DX-50. 
 
(I feel like I'm discussing car models here...) 
 
I have not heard yet if the 50HG still goes on the air or not.
