Not to mention the "documentation factor".  I think we've all inherited
sites with a whole bunch of "mystery boxes" that do something, but it's
not always obvious what or how.  For some reason there was plenty of time
to design & build these boxes, but not enough time to document them.  Why
re-invent the wheel when an off-the-shelf solution exists?
