[BC] CBS NCAA Broadcasts

Actually all the games originate in high def. It is the distribution
that gets tricky. The four regions are actually distributed via 8
networks. Each network has its own control room. Each game is fed to a
constant audience, one that will see the whole game no matter bad it is
- basically markets that have teams in the tournament. Then there are
flex networks which may switch games if another game of interest to a
region is better than the one that it began with. For the 1st two rounds
there are not yet enough high def control rooms to handle 8 separate
networks. If you are in a market with a home team in the tournament, you
will see them in SD or up converted HD, depending on how your local
station handles the signal. When you are in a flex market you get HD
signals, if your local station is switching things properly. This is a
temporary situation. Next week everything is high def and hopefully next
year the whole tournament.
