I was recently persuaded to replace my still-working Averatec, purchased 
2.5 years ago from Walmart.com for $700 with a MacBook Pro.  I would 
recommend both machines, though my Averatec experience is dated.

Mac with parallels is awesome:  Now it's a MAC, now it's XP, now it's 
Ubuntu, very nice and they all play nicely together.  With the virtue
