Agreed...and that's exactly who we had do the work. A company which
specializes in pulling cables/fiber long distances. They had a variety of
tuggers in their inventory from small to "Powered by Cat". We used
Greenlee tugger similar to those used by electricians and tower riggers
mounted on a trailer hitch. It comes with a current meter which translates
current draw to tension/pulling force. A necessary item when pulling cables
of any type. And also don't forget cable sheaves properly sized for the
cables as well. If you're pulling 1/2 cable, an 18' sheave is the smallest
size you should use under light pulling conditions for a 90 deg. corner.
If you don't have such a tugger or similar to it, don't even try pulling
the cable. You might burn a trans up before the end of the job if you
simply tie off to your trailer hitch.
