    Correct! The GM at WEEN-AM/WLCT-FM, Lafayette, TN is still running a
tube transmitter, a Collins 20V-2, that was installed when WEEN went on
in 1958. Randy said the tube prices from Richardson were getting higher
& higher and they were just about ready to turn off the AM, due the FM
was the money maker for them.
     I think now they are buying a rack mount transmitter for the AM and
keep it on.

 From a practical point of view I just wonder if after all that effort, 
tubes will become impossible to procure sooner rather than later.
