[BC] Outlook express is a problem

I am having a major problem with Outlook Express.

I hope one of you may have a solution or suggestion.

When I open an email that is in the inbox and read it when I close it the 
mail remains in the inbox.

However when I close outlook express and then reopen it (shut it down and 
restart it) then the email that I have read is gone.

Note: This does not happen if the email is in a different file.

Like the email from the news groups.  I have a message tool set up which 
places it in my file for group emails so I can read them when I have time VS 
cluttering up the main inbox.

Now the problem only seems to have started happening around the 28th of 
February as I reacall possibly the 27th.

My email goes through a virus check when it comes in. I have run a complete 
virus scan of my computer with the latest virus updates. I have also run ad 
aware scan of my complete system  NOTHING shows up on either.

Also I thought it was because I had loaded a new program on to my computer 
which was a memory hog but I have removed it once this all started and still 
the problem continues.

Any Suggestions??  HELP!!!!
