Willie,
Look up WFED. I'm sure that the changes imposed on it have attracted
the attention of Bonneville Washington. Their PSRA is being reduced
from 500W to 270W for most months, and the "Limiting Station" is listed
as XEG, not the cochannel 50kW in NYC, 200 miles away. The PSSA is also
being reduced.
Bonneville seems to care about WFED's coverage since they recently filed
to increase daytime power to 3.5kW. A lot of field measurements were
required for the application. That couldn't have been cheap.
I've told this story before. When they bought the station a few years
ago, neither Bonneville nor the FCC could find the authorization for
500W PSRA. The Bonneville people spent days as "researchers" at the
National Archives annex at College Park before they found the paperwork.
You can see a fuzzy copy in their application to increase WFED's day
power to 3.5kW.
I'm wondering how long before some daytimers get together and ask for an
injunction against the FCC. The grounds wound be "arbitrary and
capricious" changes, perhaps based on flawed analysis. Let the
lawyer-speak roll.
