It is not twisted logic at all. Shoplifting is *illegal* and is punishable by Law. The Police are called and the person is arrested. A Law has been broken, and a penalty will be exacted. Nothing "twisted" at all. That's the facts, Jack. ;)
The FCC Rules also have the Force of Law. Violation of them opens one up to punitive action by the Government. (Fines and even possible imprisonment.) If I witness a burglary at my neighbor's home, I am *obligated* to call the Police... even though it isn't *my* property. I would also hope that my neighbors would return that courtesy. So same with the FCC Rules. The Police can't be *everywhere* so they often solicit the help of the general public. See a crime? Call 911.
