[BC] RESPECT!

As Arethra says...RESPECT!!

It's too bad that there's so little of it among radio engineers. This incident
is just one example - I have another.

I have been looking for a job for quite some time. Last year my wife closed
her business after a year, losing $80,000.00 in the process.
Needless to say, the past six months have been absolute HELL for us!

I've been consulting, but since every full time engineer in Boston seems to
have a station or two (or many) on the side, rates suck and contract jobs are
hard to find.

I've sent out hundreds of resumes. I've also been brushed off, lied to (one
regional DOE told me the week after Thanksgiving that he wouldn't be making a
decision until after the holidays, then he hired someone else TWO DAYS
LATER!). Most people simply don't give you the courtesy of any reply at all
(including some here!).

DON'T give me the excuse that you get: "Too many resumes" to be courteous to
your fellow engineers. It doesn't hold water!

I have been in this business over 30 years. During that time I've seen
engineers lack respect for their bretheren more and more. Let me ask you all a
question: How can we expect management to treat US with respect when we can't
even treat EACH OTHER that way?

One final thought....I try to treat everyone I know in a manner with which I
would like to be treated myself...

DO YOU????

Burned another at the stake.

It would seem we have many experts (and I mean that) but few with the, as
Bob Tarsio pointed out, patience and tolerance to teach.
