[BC] FCC PUBLIC HEARINGS

Paul,
Branson is starting to fade as well. IMHO...Country Music is changing
and sounding more AC, and more mass appeal, especially with the female
artist, an example would be Faith Hill, and the Dixie Chicks have
already moved over to the Pop Scene as well.

It moved to Branson, MO
The last time I was up that way I was shocked to see the disrepair the
Opryland area had become. The amusement park was gone, the shopping mall
was
mostly closed. I know a few years ago, there was talk of WSM being sold
and
the station flipping to a sports format. I dont see why a bunch of the
rich
country artists dont buy WSM and turn it into a 50KW TIS station for
country
music. Also when the Nashville Network eliminated all their Country
programming that hurt tourism at Nashville too.

Frank,
The one held here in Nashville was a pure joke. There was hardly no
discussion about community affairs and broadcasting. It was nothing but
country artist (George Jones) and a bunch of "no name" song writers
stirring up trouble, griping about station's formats. They still have
WSM, what else do they want?
I think the FCC Commissioners came to Nashville to take a hit from the
country music industry, which is dying. Music Row is almost dead!
