its useless for most things around Manhattan like tunnel traffic and 
the like, but quite useful for things like weekend construction or 
big jams due to major wrecks on the highways and the like.  You just 
have to know when to ignore it, and when it's probably right.

If you did you would still be stuck in most jams. The 20 20 cycle of
news and the limited amount of time for traffic renders it useless. Even
I as a taxi passenger have learned this.
