Assuming that you did use SF6 in an air-dielectric line, I would expect the
surge impedance to change.  I don't have a handbook handy, but I would
expect the dielectric constant of sulfur hexafluourde (and Freon) to
significantly different than dry air (70% N2) or nitrogen.  Wouldn't
altering the capacitance between the center conductor and the outer
conductor change the impedance, as the inductance/foot would remain the
same?
